An Environmental & Social Assessment Specialist with over twenty (20) years of Environmental & Social Assessment and Capacity Building experience in EIA, Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), rural participatory appraisals, and related fields. Played a lead role in developing: (1) the Environmental Assessment (EA) Regulations (LI 1652); (2) the EA Amendment Regulations (LI 1703); (3) the Ghana EIA Procedures; and (4) the Environmental Assessment in Ghana – A Guide. Facilitated EIAs conducted and reviewed in Ghana over a decade (1992 – 2003).
He has a BSc (Hons) Biological Sciences from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology, Kumasi, Ghana, a MSc Environmental Science from the University of Aberdeen, Aberdeen, Scotland, a Certificate for Graduate Study & Professional Development form the University of California, Davis, USA (Hubert Humphrey Fellowship), Certificate in GIS & Satellite Imagery Processing Technology Application from the Regional Centre for Services in Surveying, Mapping & Remote Sensing. Nairobi, Kenya, a Certificate in Conservation & Management of Marine Resources from the International Ocean Institute - Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and a Certificate in Urban (Environmental) Policy Development Public Policy Program - University of California Extension, Los Angeles, USA.
Dr. Edith Clarke
Dr Clarke is a Public Health Physician, Planner & Environmental Health Assessment Specialist and the Deputy Director of GreenAd. She had her University Education at the University of Ghana medical School where she obtained her MBCh B. She has specialized training in Occupational Health from the University of Birmingham, UK and the National Institute for Working Life, Sweden. She has also undertaken several courses in health systems research, management of health systems, environmental assessments, training etc. both within and outside Ghana.
Dr. Clarke has worked extensively in the area of occupational and Environmental Health. She has worked as a part time lecturer in Occupational Health, School of Public Health at the University of Ghana since 1992. She is currently the head of Occupational & Health Unit, GHS/Ministry of Health.
Mrs Elizabeth Amoyaw-Osei
Director of Finance and Administration
Elizabeth leads and supports the internal team in the areas of business planning and budgeting, human resources and administration. She also leads the annual audit processes and plays a critical role in strategic decision making and operations, directs and streamlines organizational cash flows, implements contracts management and oversees projects/grants accounting. She previously held similar administrative and financial roles with Shell Trading Limited, Association of Ghana Industries and Banket Dev Co among others. She holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Statistics at the University of Ghana Legon.
Bennett Nana Akuffo
Bennett is a Research/Planning professional with varied work experience in the areas of environmental and health research, project management and training. Bennett has abackground in Environmental Management (NEBOSH/Sheilds), IMIS(NCR), Research Writing (AutherAid & INASP). He is responsible for implementing GreenAd’s development projects. He also has experience in the area of environmental media monitoring (i.e., sampling and analysis of soil, water and air quality measurements) and contaminated sites assessment.
Kojo O. Amoyaw-Osei
Graduate of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology with a BSc. Geological Engineering degree. Past experiences include ground water exploration and teaching of science at basic and secondary school levels. Specialises in Geotechnical engineering and has three years’ experience in environmental Impact assessment.
Mohammed Ibrahim Suraju
Mohammed holds an ICA Part 2 and an H.N.D in Accountancy. Mohammed is an expert in accounting and tax consulting with close to 5 years’ experience. As an Accountant in GreenAd, Mohammed is responsible for Preparing Annual Accounts to Management and for Audit purposes, Filing Tax returns to the Revenue Authorities, ensuring that proper books of accounts are kept, Preparing Budget and Forensic Accounts.
Albert Kokutse Dor
Albert is a graduate of the University of Ghana, Legon with a BA Geography and Resource Development degree. Past experience include serving as the Technical Director for New Breed Projects of Teens Aloud Foundation and teaching of Information and Communication technology at the basic and secondary levels. Albert has a year’s experience in Environmental Impact Assessment and specializes in Project Coordination.
Nana Kesewa Akesseh
Ms Akesseh holds a Masters in Public Health (MPH) from the University of Birmingham in England after pursuing a BSc in Biology at Missouri Valley College in the United States of America. She joined the team in January 2016 and brings on board her knowledge in assessment and evaluation in the public and occupational health field.
Gladys Quaye is a plant ecologist and taxonomist. She has just completed her master's degree in botany from the University of Ghana, Legon. She is very knowledgeable in forest ecology and conservation and has participated in international conferences and workshops on forestry. She has managed international projects and has been trained in forest ecology in Uganda.
She is responsible for communication in and out of GreenAd. She advices GreenAd on conservation issues. She is our environmental and conservation expert.
Mr Amoah is an Environmental Specialist and the Programmes Director of GreenAd. He holds a Masters Degree in Environmental Science from Lund University, Sweden. He has rich expertise in climate change issues and school environmental education programmes.
Lilian Brew is an Environmental Specialist and the Director of Monitoring and Evaluation, GreenAd. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from University of Cape Coast and a diploma in Science Laboratory Technician Programme. Lilian has expertise in water, air and noise quality monitoring as well as data collection and analysis.
